Organizational Learning Culture

In education and training, the learning environment becomes heavily emphasized to ensure effective delivery of instruction and effective classroom and training management. The learning culture doesn’t fall squarely on the instructor, but it falls on the learner as well. How an instructor chooses to engage in the learning environment will vary based on pedagogy. The learner has the choice of engaging in the learning and approach it with an open mind. My pedagogy leads more into an informal learning setting, especially when e-learning is becoming standard in University settings.

Within a career organization, collaboration and teamwork are heavily also emphasized. Oh (2020) discovered a close relationship between Organizational Culture and Organizational Learning, leading that workforce training can be taught like you would in a Postsecondary classroom. Kittel et al. (2021) questioned if team collaboration skills learned at University could also be utilized in the workplace. Kittel et al. (2021) describe it as learning by conversation and discussion in an informal learning environment, much like how discussion board posts in Postsecondary education settings. It allows us to think and reflect about what we say and caution from going in the wrong direction of the discussions.

Would establish the foundation of learning in the Postsecondary education environment cross over into the on-the-job training in the workforce? I would believe so from my personal work experiences from the military and my undergraduate studies that focused most of our work on collaboration on team projects and papers. The ability to learn these skills is valuable to the workforce and should be occurring more often.
